Project LCF Episode 1: Explore Timberland
Photography by: Jian Alvarez
Model, MUA, & Stylist: Royce Salen
Location: Timberland Heights, San Mateo, Philippines
For the record, this is my first time to ever, ever, ever done a photo shoot using off-camera flash. Many thanks to David Hobby, and to other blogs/books which taught me all about lighting using strobes/flashes or whatever. Really, thank you.
Strobist Info: One 580EX II somewhere at 1/2 power positioned camera up-right on a shoot-through umbrella just two feet away from the subject, underexposed the ambient light at 250th (didn't know how it happened, but the 450D's max sync speed should be at 200th of a second only, aye?).
ISO: 100
Aperture: f/14.0
Exposure: 0.004 sec
Strobist Info: One 580EX II at full power positioned camera up-left on a shoot-through umbrella just two feet away from the subject, underexposed the ambient light at 250th.
ISO: 100
Aperture: f/11.0
Exposure: 0.004 sec
Strobist Info: One bare 580EX II somewhere at 1/32 power positioned camera up-left five feet away from the subject, ambient light was at 125th (to have a dramatic balance with the subject. Bah okay, I love sunsets).
ISO: 400
Aperture: f/5.0
Exposure: 0.008 sec
Strobist Info: One bare 580EX II somewhere at 1/32 power positioned camera right five feet away from the subject, ambient light was at 100th.
ISO: 400
Aperture: f/5.0
Exposure: 0.01 sec
Strobist Info: One bare 580EX II somewhere at 1/32 power positioned camera right six feet away from the subject, ambient light was at 25th. Zoomed my flash head at 105mm to give a little snoot through the subject model.
ISO: 800 (was surreal dark!)
Aperture: f/6.3
Exposure: 0.04 sec
